About Kybella®

Kybella® is a non-surgical procedure approved to permanently melt fat cells from the area between the chin and neck, or submental, area. It was developed as a less invasive alternative to liposuction, neck lifts, and similar surgical procedures.

What can I expect?

Kybella® treatments are quick and easy, with appointments lasting approximately 20 minutes and visible results within 10-14 days. Best results are achieved with a series of 2-6 injections over a period of several months. Kybella® is an excellent option for adults in good health with a moderate amount of fat in the neck or other desired treatment area. Recovery time following Kybella® injection is minimal. The most common side effect is temporary swelling lasting up to 10 days.

Targeted areas

Kybella® targets the submental area, also known as the double chin. Off-label uses for Kybella® may be discussed with your provider.

How does it work?

Kybella®’s key ingredient is deoxycholic acid, which mimics the human body’s naturally occurring fat metabolizing agent. Once injected, deoxycholic acid destroys the fat cells in the area so that it is no longer able to store fat. The fat cells naturally metabolize after the injection, leaving behind a more sculpted and defined profile.

How long does it last?

Number of treatments differ from patient to patient depending on the amount of fat in the treatment area. You can see results in up to two weeks. In most cases, 2-6 treatments are recommended with approximately one month between treatments.

Over time, due to natural aging, our bodies produce less collagen. This, combined with environmental factors like sun exposure, often leaves us with less elasticity and volume as well as visible signs of aging. Sculptra® works over time to gradually stimulate collagen production from within, restoring the skin's natural fullness and correcting wrinkles, folds, fat loss, and many other signs of aging.

What can I expect?

Sculptra®’s non-invasive treatments can last anywhere from 15-40 minutes. Typically, your provider will apply a numbing cream to the treatment area and will use a very fine needle for injecting. Sculptra® is not a quick fix, results become apparent over time through a series of treatments. Though results appear gradually, full correction can achieve results lasting up to two years.

Targeted areas

Sculptra® targets visible signs of aging such as volume loss, skin depressions, folds, wrinkles, scars, and facial fat loss (lipoatrophy). Sculptra® is also known for off label uses, most notably nonsurgical Brazillian Butt Lift (BBL), also known as "Sculptra® Butt Lift." Treatment plans vary from patient to patient based on their specific needs.

How does it work?

The key component of Sculptra® is Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Once injected, PLLA gradually induces collagen production that is significant enough to fill out hollowness, folds, fat loss, and other signs of aging.

How long does it last?

A typical treatment plan may consist of a minimum of three Sculptra® appointments over the course of several months. Individuals who are older, thinner, or exercise vigorously.
